Some Individuals Occupying the Tree Tops (for Several Different Reasons), 2009

Objects installed in a tree in Folkets Park (People’s Park) in Malmö. They are unused containers for actions yet to be. Between a possession of these items and their functions stands two things: one’s morale and a desire enough to surpass the threshold of climbing the tree (the distance between the ground and the first branch requires significant work, tools and/or skill to be reached). Once in the tree tops one is free to have a rest in the hammock, winch up more objects with the two winches, connect the satellite dish for unrestricted access etc. The installation was a part of a site-specific course and project led by Annika Eriksson for Malmö Art Academy together with the work of seven other students at the academy.
